U11 Lion Shield Winners

Starting a new team from kids that never knew each other. Trained all through the summer played a tournament and never won a game. After a few training sessions and a couple of more defeats, we could see who should be playing in what positions and getting the boys to hold their shape. We started working on passing and closing down faster when not in possession.

We won a couple of matches in the league before Christmas and the boys were starting to enjoy themselves. A new year and the beginning of the Violet shield competition.

This is based as a league consisting of eight teams. First match was an amazing game with the lions running out 9-2 winners from then on we went and won every game apart from one in the league. We are now league winners and have a cup final on the horizon.

The way these kids have grown into a strong football side and group of friends, has made Coach Jack and I very proud. Win or lose in the finals we are very happy with the progress they have made and we are looking forward to seeing them achieve great things in the season to come.
